I had been leaking oil quite profusely out of the clutch slave cover on the left side of the engine. It was dripping onto the collectors to the point that you simply couldn't stand the smell. With 70,000 miles on the engine I could not justify the high cost of repair, which requires engine removal to fix the worn seal in question. Our trusty Rooster helped diagnose the problem, and was on the horn immediately to Dave Dadge. Dave indicated that the seal in question slides through the push rod that moves in/out when the clutch is depresses. The seal wears, and according to Dave sometimes can be repaired by melting a teflon? sleeve over the rod to effectively make it a bigger diameter, and hence a tighter fit with the worn seal. Presto - a 20 minute repair and no more oil leak! Thanx, Dave - you're the man. ===== Ed Shea from Northern V-A, edshea_va@yahoo.com 1984 V65 Magna a.k.a. "Naughty Girl" 1980 GoldWing GL1100 a.k.a.
